Bengaluru to Munnar, Kerala
Munnar is tea country at its most sculpted: hillsides clipped into neat green contours, silver oak standing guard over them, and cool air that smells of eucalyptus and damp earth. The roads curl past reservoirs and grassland, and every bend opens onto another fold of estate.
We drive overnight on Friday and wake up in the hills. Saturday covers the classic Munnar circuit to Mattupetty and Echo Point, ending with an evening of Kalaripayattu, Kerala's old martial art. On Sunday we leave in the dark for Suryanelli and ride a jeep up to Kolukkumalai for sunrise and the Jaguar Rock viewpoint, then head home after a late breakfast.
